We use goats milk soap, $5 a bar and use that for hair and body. I use a goats milk lotion for the ends of my hair. My hair has never been healthier. I have to eat a high protein, higher fat, low veg/grains. If you eat simply, nearly single ingredients, your body will be healthier. A high veg diet hurts me and causes IBS etc. We wash clothes after the 2nd wearing usually, except undergarments and socks. Drying on a lower heat or no heat helped lower costs. I’ve discovered that washing clothes by hand isn’t actually very difficult and you don’t have to scrub them too much. Using flannel for wiping in bathroom is so much better! So is doing a humanure compost system! Less cleaning products, no smell, no clean water flushed down the drain. We use less paper products. We keep tp for guests for the “normal” toilet.😉 We save water from boiling eggs for plants. Lots of ways to save water! Shut off breakers if you can. Saves tons of $$$! Make things, critters, and children work for their upkeep. Children need chores and their pets can be used for homeschooling & helping them gain responsibility muscles. I have found homeschooling is much cheaper in the long run. Investing in excellent curriculum that works with all learning styles can help reduce costs. Also, the different styles of home education have variety of websites with free resources and of course the library! I bought a math curriculum that goes from K-12 for only $600! Total! Goes to Calculus! And my kids love it and they giggle while reading it. Life of Fred is the name of it. We buy used curriculum at various homeschool bookstores. Children do NOT have to cost a ton of money! We have a family vision and if the extra curricular that are great, but don’t fit in the family vision are not included. We don’t play team sports, we do team activities together as a family with each taking turns to lead. We don’t do co-ops because it gets expensive in our area. We will do fb groups where we can choose to participate or not. That way the kids can enjoy being with friends. They make friends everywhere they go! lol Also, clothes and toys can be purchased used or asked by grandparents or other relatives to share $. Saves everyone! My kids don’t see Christmas as a gift taking holiday, but a giving of their time or art. Pets aren’t expensive if they do a job. I have 2 lg Great Pyrenees and they protect my kids when they are outside as well as our property. They can eat a lovely diet similar to yours that doesn’t cost anymore. Add your garlic and onions to your dish afterwards and the dogs can eat your food. Cats on the other hand can eat FRESH raw meat or cooked, however there are supplements you must add. They can eat the liver and heart that you get with your chicken. Go fishing with your kids for a free activity and feed your pets what you catch. Saves sooo much on pet care! Use a hotplate, instapot, or crockpot for cooking instead of your range. Unplug or cut breaker off. Put a wool blanket under your fitted sheet in the winter. Learned this today! Cut heat down and wear a cap to bed. An eye mask will keep your sinuses warm. We use wood heat, so that saves us a lot of! Learn to cook over the fire ring you have for roasting marshmallows! Buy clothes that are well made and with materials that keep you warm or cool for the season you need for them. Buy classic! Ladies go back to wearing dresses as they hold up better. The Mennonite women’s dresses in our area stay good for years! Invest in sturdy boots like cowgirl boots or hiking boots if you live in the mountains or rocky areas like I do. I have 1 nice pair of dress shoes for church, I wear a pair of sandals as slippers in the Summer and tennis shoes as slippers in the winter. They last longer than regular slippers. These are just a few of the things I’ve figured out for myself.

As for diet, eating healthy is MUCH easier in Hawaii than on the mainland. When I moved to Big Island, I lost 50 lbs in the first 3 months Without dieting because the locally grown foods were grown #1.organic and #2 were grown on soils with high nutrient content. The nutrient dense foods were very satisfying so I no longer craved sugar or oily salty snacks, and I didn't over eat. Since moving back to the mainland I've returned to struggling with my weight because it's almost impossible to find locally grown fruits and veggies. Supermarket foods are devoid of nutrients. This lack of nutrients makes it impossible to feel satisfied after eating a reasonable amount of food. This in turn triggers food cravings for unhealthy foods.

RE Envelope Stuffing: While stuffing makes sense, having cash in your house can be a big loss in case of break in or a disaster like a house fire or earthquake. Perhaps a separate bank account with an accompanying spreadsheet that breaks down where the money is intended to be used would be a smarter choice, especially if you can earn interest on the account. The "psychological" benefit of cash is just that - psychological. When you learn to treat your card like cash, you no longer deal with issues around overspending, regardless of the payment method. My bank account is in Hawaii and I live in California. Cash can be difficult to come by as more and more shops no longer allow cash back on purchases and ATMs charge fees.

I feel many young people are realizing that having kids is not worth the expense. Many of us feel we werent given a childhood and so this has become our tradeoff. Instead of having kids we are allowing ourselves to be kids again

I've eliminated most of these (for stomach reasons) and still have really bad acne. eventually I'm not going to have anything to eat. kinda lost and not sure what to do other than just not eat. ever. I already don't have the best relationship with food because of my chronic stomach issues and my eating disorder

I agree mostly except the Apple Watch or Fitbit and gym membership. For someone like me who’s active, I prefer the gym for resistance training and Apple Watch or Fitbit is good for my health. These stuff is for my health and wellbeing so I don’t let these go, it’s my health investment. I don’t buy brand new clothes anymore unless if needed really. I just purchase in fb market for secondhand goods. We only have Netflix for distressing after a week of work compared to to others who has so many subscriptions.

glad to find this video. because i am so scare and very nervous to to put the plant in a bigger pot. I do not know what type of monestra. this was given to my mom almost 30 years ago. when my mom passed away in 2013, i was semi taking care of it. now i have neglect it, not taking better care of my late mom's plant. so i am looking for videos to show me how to repotted into bigger plant step by step. it is huge. the last time i repott was almost 5 or 6 years ago. it is yelling me to put them in a bigger pot.

That terracotta pot saved it they wick water out fast , I live in the NC coastal area humidity is a concern here! No plastic, no sealed ceramic here just clay pots

Christine.Hello.I just wish to say how much i enjoyed this video.First time seeing you,and what a pleasure.I was in an accident a couple of years ago and one of the permanant injuries is a brain injury.Now I am getting back on my feet,literally;I am changing many things in my life.Both practivally and because I feel differently or more strongly about many things.Ive been vegetarian since teens and an enthusiastic thrift store shopper with very eclectic taste.I will never be a minimalist or neutral colours person{also now I am legally blind,I would never be able to find anything!I enjoy bright clashy colours and crystals and candles.But i no longer want more stuff.I am learning to propegate plants for my balcony in recycled glass jars.I live it,oops,love it!I used to treat myself and my ex would treat me with cut flowers.I thought i would be sad withought them.Now i have and love green plants.Yes they do need looking after and sometimes this is difficult.Yet i love them.i am with you on many of your suggestions,even some random ones like not buying condements.I dont wander around thriftshops anymore finding trasures,I have enough.The other week i spent a long time,a couple of weeks really,being ruthless going through my clothes.I think I ended up with ten big rubbish bags for my local thrift shop.And tho it was very difficult to part with many;in the end I thought about the lucky people who would be so happy finding them.also the money the charity would make.My brain cannot handle much stress and it really is true what is said about simplicity and the peace there is in having less stuff.I dont have much money,but I have a secure roof over my head,a cosy safe home.I believe everybody needs a safe secure home as a basic human Right.I wanted to tell you two months ago i bought a few cans of full sugar coke{before the accident i never ever bought sugary drinks}within a month I was hopelessly addicted.Drinking 3 cans a day!that is how quickly it happened.I am weaning off it and when the last one is gone will go back to water.It just shocked me how quickly it happened.So I am drinking loads of water again and 2 cans left.Thank you for your calm advice,lots of simple things that I had not thought of.Please exscuse all spelling mistakes.best wishes from new subscriber in Ireland.
